Environmentally Friendly Paints
According to the EPA, the air in your home is more than three
times more polluted than the air outside. And, with today's airtight
materials and construction techniques, indoor pollution is a major
source of respiratory problems. In a new home, especially, interior
paints can contribute significant amounts of Hazardous Air Polutants.
What's wrong with Name Brand latex paints?
Most commercially available interior and exterior latex
paints contain Volatile Organic Compounds, primarily Ethylene
Glycol. When you use paints containing Ethylene Glycol, you might
experience some of the side effects of Ethylene Glycol poisoning:
nausea, dizziness, headaches, and irritated skin, eyes, nose,
and throat.
What makes a paint earth friendly?
Environmentally friendly paints do not contain
Volativle Organic Compounds, like Ethylene Glycol. They are much
safer to use indoors, and will not expose you to any hazardous
chemicals, such as Ethylene Glycol. Why not go VOC free?
