Hudson's Bay Neighborhood
The Hudson's Bay neighborhood is the oldest neighborhood in Vancouver,
and is named after the Hudson's Bay Company, a British Company
that established the original Fort Vancouver, in 1825. The US
Army arrived in 1849 to protect the fort, and still are a part
of the neighborhood today. This area is known for the historic
Fort Vancouver, Pearson Air Field, and the Washington State School
for the Deaf.

Row is accross from Fort Vancouver and boasts 34 residential
units and the Grant, Marshall and Howard houses. The Vancouver
National Historic Reserve Trust. handles day-to-day operations
of the Row for the city.
The earliest homes in the Hudson's Bay neighborhood were built
in the late 1800's to 1910, and included victorian, bungalo, or
cottage style. In the 40's, ranches began to appear. The neighborhood
also has great access to health care, dental care and other support
services. Easy access to major freeways is a definite plus. If
you want to live in a historic neighborhood, Hudson's Bay is for
you.
