Doors and Door Parts

Bifold Door- Two paneled folding
door mounted in a track overhead. Typically used with closets.
Bypass Door- Doors set in a track,
top and bottom, usually used for closets, often with mirrored
fronts.
Dutch Door - Two part door, divided
horizontally, so that top or bottom can be opened independently.
French Door -Two part door, divided
vertically, so that left or right side can be opened independently.
Hollow Core Door- A door constructed
with hollow center and or filler material inside center.
Jamb- The sides and top of a door
frame.
Solid Core- A door constructed
with solid wood blocks between exterior surfaces. Typically more
expensive.
Steel Door- A door constructed
of steel, which makes it fireproof and very secure.
Threshold- The bottom part of a
doorway. The part you step over.
